I'm still here...we all are...Adding little Miss to our lives has NOT slowed us down! Just my blogging! Summer has flown by with a few little trips~ St Louis for a "mini vacation" and trip to Boston and all the daily living with 3 kiddos. Will update you on those events! But here is the FIRST DAY of school ~ they started the middle of August...too cute! Jackson is in Kindergarten and Dane~ Jr Pre K~ both loving it!!!

She is getting BIGGER~ working those abs in the Bumbo!!

Trying to get everyone to class on the same day for a group picture is IMPOSSIBLE! Here is my 3rd attempt... got about 95% of the ladies over the 3 days! ( See last post for the others)
Tomorrow is my last offical class and I go on maternity leave! Miss Savannah is coming on Wednesday morning! Glad to have stuck with the PHYSICAL FITNESS during pregnancy~ thinking it made for a happy and healthy mommy and baby!

Hoping they are this excited when she is on the outside! julie hope photography did an AMAZING JOB! Going to be using her for the year to come...can't wait to see all the pictures of Little Miss!

Derby day is TODAY!!! GO BABY GO!!!
Last week-end my honey ran his 6th MARATHON in 12 months...GO BABY GO!!! Of course, he noted this was THE BEST one yet...KENTUCKY DERBY MARATHON...thinking he is partial because of his KENTUCKY BRIDE!

So proud of my husband! Now to get this little one on the outside so I can rejoin him on the race courses!

Poor guy had to get "stuck" today for labs....2nd set of tubes and adnoidnectomy await us on Friday! He was BRAVE until the "stick" then all tears!!! Lots of LOVE and kisses...and a oreo milkshake made it all better! For both of us!

Birthday update!!!

The LONG OVERDUE Birthday update!!! Jackson turned 5 in Feburary and Dane 3 in March... we've had lots to celebrate!
Jackson wanted a "solider" theme as he is VERY INTO ANYTHING ARMY related...tanks, helicopters, planes, camo, etc! So we decided on a BOWLING PARTY (gotta keep the kiddos moving before you give them sugar) and "decked" it out in "SOLIDER" gear!
The Cake was a TANK and we also had cupcakes with "ARMY soliders" on top...think TOY STORY GREEN MEN!
It was a hit...Birthday boy and friends ENJOYED a few rounds of bowling, pizza, and cake!! Hope he remembers his special day!!!

Dane is ALL about MICKEY MOUSE!!! ( probably because it's the only cartoon he watches...and our recnet trip to MICKEY MOUSE HOUSE!) We tried to "venture" outside of the box and decided on a MUSEUM party! It was Lots of fun!!! WE had a private room for lunch, CRAFT TIME, and CAKE...of couse MICKEY MOUSE CAKE!! Then we were able to "EXPLORE" the 3 levels of the CHILDREN's MUSEUM....AGAIN KEEP THEM MOVING= potential naptime for everyone!! I think it was a great SUCCESS!!!

Now we await the arrival of little sister...6 more weeks! But WHO's COUNTING???

Finishing up the nursery .... awaiting the FINAL paint design...hence the furniture is on "hold mode" at the store...slowly finding some pink clothes...realizing there is lots of things to buy from PINK BLANKETS, onsies, sheets, bedding, etc... all in the name of baby GIRL!!
DID get a snese of ACCOMPLISHMENT with this purchase today! After great debate and research...as my FIRST INFANT CAR SEAT has expired...did you know they EXPIRED- yup after 6 years from manafactuer date... CRAZY???

Anyway...This is how she will ride...in STYLE and SAFETY!

Woah...Wait a Minute!

I can't believe that it's been a "month" since my last post. Totally skipped over February! There was good reason...lots going on from traveling to the SUPER BOWL in Dallas Tx, to Jackson turning 5, getting the boys room painted and starting on "baby girl's" room, a quick trip to Nashville for Juiceplus...and ALL the other daily joys of motherhood!
All is well... the super bowl was great fun and a check off our bucket list! The half time show was the BEST...loving the BLACK-EYED-PEAS and 1000 dancers on the field!

Jackson turning five was FANTASTIC! He's really growing up into a "big boy" as his attitude and behavior are becoming more caring everyday. His manners and understanding of the outside world are really wonderful to see transpire... his latest comment to me "YES your MAJESTY!". Too funny! He also is "getting the connection" at his Sunday school class and this brings great JOY to my heart!

A FULL BIRTHDAY POST TO FOLLOW ASAP!

Things are going well with the pregnancy and I'm staying active by teaching my 3 aerobics classes per week and making sure to get 2 additional cardio sessions in! My GOAL is to teach my last class less than 24 hours before my Csection! No problem...just taking 1 day at a time!

Dane is growing up fast...he turns 3 this week and has successfully been in "BIG BOY UNDIES" for several weeks! The last few days have even been "poop on potty" successes! How wonderful it will be to enjoy NO ONE in diapers or pull-ups...even for just a few months!

Promise to do better with posting!

I love this picture! The boys are really excited about having a baby sister! The other night both of them wanted to see my "big belly". It was sweet... lots of pats and kisses were given to her and to hear them talk to my belly was adorable! Thinking our house will be "rocked" come May, but hopefully some added estrogen will prove to be a good thing!

DISNEY HALF/FULL MARATHON

Hubby and I kick started this NEW YEAR with some MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS!!!
After our first MARATHON last April we decided that we'd like to "go big" and do DISNEY!!
So we signed ourselves up... thinking we might have another baby I went "Donald duck" with the HALF, but hubby took up the slack and decided to go "GOOFY"! Which means a half on Saturday and then a FULL the following day...total of 39.3 miles!!

REALLY PROUD of our accomplishments!!! Me COMPLETING the HALF MARATHON 20 weeks PREGNANT with baby girl! HUBBY truly GOING THE DISTANCE and COMPLETING the GOOFY CHALLENGE! AMAZING what your body can do with a little training and A LOT of determination!!!

So set your sights on a GOAL THIS YEAR!! MAKE it amazing!!! PUSH yourself beyond the "normal" limits and JUST DO IT!!!

Hoping all of you had a WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS and are wrapping up 2010!!
We had a great time with the boys this year....so magical to see their faces on Christmas morning!
Also we had a GREAT BLESSING just before the "big day" and found out that baby number 3 is looking HEALTHY and strong....and is a GIRL!! The boys had predicted it was a girl....funny that they already knew!

This has been my mode of action this week...catch up from Disney. Sleep, laundry, CHRISTmas to do list....party planning, shopping...you name it! BUT WHAT FUN WE HAD!!
More to come once the "fairy dust" settles!

One thing I can say is that I'm keeping up with my workouts! At least 5 days a week....even with the CRAZY TO-DO LIST!
Don't kid yourself and skip out...you need the STRESS releif, your body needs to MOVE and burn calories, and you'll FEEL SO MUCH BETTER!!! STAY FOCUSED til the end of the year!!!

GREAT NEWS!

I got a wonderful pre-Thanksgiving blessing this past Wednesday!! We had ANOTHER ultrasound to check on the "bleeding" and it's GONE!!! So the "reduced" exercise and "no weight lifting" WORKED!!! I can come back to "normal" exercise with "medium" weight lifting....WOO HOO! GOD is GOOD all the time!
Truly, I haven't let myself grow "too attached" as a means of "protecting my feelings", but everything is "NORMAL" at this point!

When I saw the baby moving (flipping and kicking) and there were NO SIGNS of bleeding I started to cry...a HUGE weight was LIFTED off my heart and shoulders...and I felt this little baby literally FILL my heart! We have another ultrasound planned for Dec 23rd to check on things...and of course FIND OUT the sex!

For now LIFE is good...and about to get even better...tomorrow we head for SUNNY FLORIDA! DISNEYWORLD here we come!
Can't wait to see the boys faces when they see MAGIC KINGDOM!

Hope everyone had a WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING!!! Know get back to the EXERCISE routine and eating HEALTHY foods!

THE BENEFITS of EXERCISE while PREGGO!

Exercise is WONDERFUL for you at ANY PHASE of your life....but especially while expecting a bundle of joy. I am 13 1/2 weeks along with my 3 child and of course I'm exercising!! However, I've had to "tone it down" these last few weeks due to a complication (no worries baby is fine....just need to get SCH (bleeding in uterus) to GO AWAY! It's been there since 6 weeks...which is why I couldn't run the half marathon I trained for on 10-10-10! It reduced in size signficantly while not running and decreasing weights in bodypump...but it is STILL THERE. So... I've been told to SLOW DOWN and NOT PUSH IT! EASY to say...but HARD to DO! It's been 10 days...and I've just taught 3 classes....doing LOW IMPACT OF COURSE and MORE MOTIVATING than SWEATING...but PRAYING on Wednesday the ultrasound will SHOW that it's GONE! Ready to get back to "normal"!
So... are you getting your SWEAT SESSIONS IN??? If not... do one for me...PLEASE!!! IF you are expecting...check out this article of the BENEFITS (as I've been missing them)!

Hike to the HEAVENS!

We have celebrated fall with a WONDERFUL long week-end getaway to Gatlinburg TN with some friends! To get some EXERCISE and enjoy the BEAUTIFUL scennary we decided to go on a little hike. It was JUST 2 MILES!! What we didn't really see at the BEGINNING of the TRAIL was this sign!!! Hubby said (after the hike) "Oh, I saw that sign, but thought we'd be ok!" SERIOUSLY!!! With all those kids and NO SNACKS, a couple of water bottles!!!

THE TOP!

LOOK AT HOW STEEP IT WAS....the guys went up...not even to the top...as it was SCARY....we stopped with 5 kids at the "base" of the Rock! Literally we could see the "TOP" but NO-WAY to take the kids ROCK CLIMBING!

NOW check out the GROUP picture AFTER THE "little hike"! WHICH TOOK 4 HOURS! ONLY 1 KID STANDING!!!
WE had the BEST JUICE BOX and GOLDFISH EVER!!! Well deserved SNACK after that!!

We have been enjoying fall... from pumpkin patches, hayrides, playing in the leaves, to trick or treating, and more. Life is never dull with 2 energetic little boys. Not to mention this little one inside my belly trying to suck some too!!!

How are things in your world??? Are you managing to stay on track with EXERCISE???
My Mommy and Me class JUST STARTED ANOTHER INCENTIVE!!! This is a GREAT way to help foster "sisterhood" within the class, help everyone set some goals, and ACCOMPLISH them, all while staying focused on getting their WORKOUTS in!
THe Holiday season is a true test of your commitment to HEALTH...we tend to let things "slip" and eat MORE CALORIES while exercising LESS! I'm DETERMINED not to let those that come to my classes "fall off the wagon"! I hope you'll decide to do the same and SET 3 GOALS for yourself over these next few weeks.

Ideally, you'll need to look at 3 aspects of your life- MIND, BODY, and SPIRIT! Identify one thing in each area and SET an OBTAINABLE yet CHALLENGING goal that can be completed in 6 weeks!!! To make it more "fun" and keep you "focused" ALLOW YOURSELF a special "treat" ONCE YOU COMPLETE THEM!!! Our class is required to meet AT LEAST 2 of 3 GOALS and attend class 8 out of 13 meetings. IF THE LADIES do this then their names will go into a drawing for AN EXPENSE PAID NIGHT AWAY on me!!!
I've agreed to DANGLE A CARROT in front of them..... 1 night stay, dinner for 2, breakfast for 2, and spa treatment for her at WEST BADEN SPRINGS HOTEL!!! It's one of my most favorite places..... JUST GOOGLE IT!
ANYWAY...that is their BIG INCENTIVE.... maybe you could CHOOSE to get a MANICURE/PEDICURE or indulge in a special outfit, or DATE NIGHT with hubby....whatever it is that MOTIVATES you to stay on TRACK!!!

We had a wonderful week-end! Jay and I celebrated our 6th year wedding anniversary at West Baden (again)! We love that place. The above picture is of him looking oh-so-dashing! Then we ended the week-end with a BANG as he ran the Evansville Half marathon! MAKING A PERSONAL BEST of 1 hour 35 minutes!!! So proud of him!! Notice I said "he ran"...as it was a "cheerleader" day for me. Having trained for the big event and EXCITED to try and beat last year's time... I was side-lined as we found out we are EXPECTING!!! Baby seems to be doing well, but having a little issue with a blood clot in my uterus...hence "don't over do it" was my general recommendation. YOU KNOW I can't "half-way" do anything...hence...I became picture taker! More of those to come!!!

Why haven't I gotten back to blogger land? Not sure really... but going to make a TRUE EFFORT to post a least once a week...for a few weeks...then kick it up a notch. I have been keeping up with exericse...training for the upcoming half, teaching Mommy and Me twice a week, and Bodypump twice a week too! Of course playing with my boys and doing all that us moms do EVERYDAY!

We've been busy as usual, but this week-end had a little EXTRA on the "to do list"!
Jay completed his 2nd Marathon finishing in 3 hours and 40 minutes.
We made the treak to Dayton OHIO where he particpated in the AIRFORCE MARATHON. IT was WONDERFUL. Highly recommend...maybe I'll do it next time too! I think maybe he had the easier of the two jobs....mine was man the boys ALL NIGHT solo ( he got a seperate room for his beauty sleep), get them feed, loaded in the car, find a parking space, push the stroller about one and half miles to race area, WAIT for him to finish....FIND him in the midst of 10,000 people with a double stroller....and then take care of all 3 for the next 24 hours! Hum...should have run the marathon...that would have been easier RIGHT???
Truly we had a GREAT time and I'm so PROUD of him. WE enjoyed the Air FORCE Museum.... AMAZING!!

The FINSH line....I was about a quarter mile up from this point watching for Jay. We did seem him and then I took off for the FINSH! His "offical" time was 3 hours 40 minutes and 50 seconds!

UPDATE/CATCH UP

Well an update is well deserved! Life has been wonderful...truly I am blessed. WE have enjoyed summer, traveled a bit, relaxed, kept up with exercise, tried some yummy new recipes, and have had lots of fun. We are now ready for fall to come as it is our favorite season! Bring on the sweat shirts, fire-pit nights, falling leaves, pumpkin candles, and mums!

Jackson just completed his second week of Pre K and is doing good. Each day he gets more accustomed to the "structure" and class-room "routine". He amazes me with the "ideas" and concepts he learns and shares with me at random. He is really into "army stuff" and Starwars. He has a "list" that we've started for Christmas and has been keeping up with it for almost a month. Hopefully, it will survive until the holidays.
Dane is growing bigger and becoming a "little boy" and stepping away from the "baby boy" phase. His laugh brings joy to my ears and melts my heart into mush! He has the " I do it myself mommy" attitude going on, but then wraps his arms around my neck and gives me a kiss. GOTTA LOVE THAT!! He still is very attached to his teddy...which can never be too far from his sight!

Jay has been training for a MARATHON... in this heat! I'm excited for his upcoming race...the AIR FORCE.... the boys should love the festivities! WE've continued to make time for us and have "date night" regularly which helps us keep a PROACTIVE approach to marriage! I love him dearly!!

Aerobics is going well and the particpants inspire me daily! I feel so blessed to lead others to sweat!! I've also been keeping up with the "miles" while training for my next race.... THE HALF MARATHON on 10-10-10! 13.1 is so much better on your body...and enjoyable! Today we ran 8 miles with the "team 13 gang" (the YMCA has a training group with a about 200 people) it was so WONDERFUL to be out there with everyone today. I felt JESUS with me this morning as I ran though local neighborhoods, encouraged fellow runners, and just breathed in his FRESH air! GOD is so GOOD and I'm so GRATEFUL to be healthy!!

How are things in your end of the world? Are you still "goal oriented"? Need to stay focused on continual growth...especially as Mommies!! My class currently has a 6 week incentive going on with 3 goals to accomplish during that time!
( Physical, Mental, and spiritural) What are you doing to GROW as a person???? Remember...it's ESSENTIAL to take care of you so that you can take care of your family!!!

Summer comes to a close...

Funny, because I thought I'd posted a "post" a few weeks ago...but must have not "saved it"!
Any woo...it's been a few weeks since I've even checked in! Summer has offically ended...as Jackson started PreK today! Getting up and everyone out of the house at 7:30 am is a little "crazy"! All went well and he didn't look back!

Lots going on the last few weeks.... Jay and I did take a trip to "New England" country. My first to Maine and New Hampshire... did manage to visit Fenway Park in Boston too! Great time.
Still working out and loving it... training for a HALF MARATHON on 10-10-10, and enjoying my boys!

Just a few picutes...of our trip! More to come...in a timely fashion!

That's what hubby and I did to celebrate his birthday!! Thanks to my mom and Courtney for watching the boys! We "escaped" to West Baden resort and had a wonderful time. Our first adventure was a "wine cruise" on a beautiful local lake where we saw an EAGLE's nest...and enjoyed lots of great wine. Then a nice dinner and overnight stay at West Baden. It's "our" place and we love it! Just sad to only stay one night. OVerall, a great time to celebrate being together and recharge the batteries!

It's been busy around here...as always which is no excuse, but blogging has been on the back burner!
Hope to do better! Still keeping up the exercise routine...getting ready to ramp up the running again. There is a local HALF marathon on 10-10-10! It's that a great date!!! How's the sweating in your neck of the woods? It's HOT and humid here...so just walking outside makes me start to sweat...today I was GLISTENING out of every pore with a 5:45 am run!

Hence, making me want to get away!

Thinking a solo run might help clear the air...but of course it will have to be on the treadmill OR require a EARLY RISE TIME to beat the heat!

THE BOYS LOVED IT!!! GREAT FAMILY time. Road trip to Louisville, dinos, dinner, and a quick visit with Mam-Maw. Gotta love that kind of Saturday!

WE had a BLAST from the PAST today in the Mommy and Me class. I decided to go RETRO and do an "80's" aerobic class. It was fun doing some "research" on the "moves". Jane Fonda didn't really have much out there, but some hip thurst and neck rolls! I did stock up my ipod on A LOT of GREAT music!
Everyone was encouraged to dress up and sweat to some good tunes. Here are a few of us that looked the part!

What's that...oh...it's FAKE! Thank goodness!
But do you ever have a day when things seem to be going the opposite way....well at least in your HORMONAL MOMMY mind??

Well NOT TODAY!!
That's right... I made the decision that today was going to be a MARVELOUS MONDAY...no matter what!!! No matter what HORMONES were trying to do to my mind!!! NOPE... NOT GOING TO MAKE ME CRAZY!!
My Mommy and ME sweat SESSION did the trick and put me in a GOOD MOOD for the rest of the day!!
It was productive with the end result of happy little boys, cleaned out car...and washed, a ORGANIZED TO-DO LIST, and now dinner in the oven!
Plans for the evening include a glass of wine, chicken and pasta, and maybe...a sliver of cheesecake. Ok...hormones might win on that one! BUT don't worry a run and Bodypump class will be on my agenda tomorrow!!!

HOPING you are keeping EVERYTHING in check....promise my cure is a GREAT SWEAT SESSION ....and a little chocolate!

I hail from KENTUCKY! DERBY TIME is the best!! This year hubby and I kick started the Derby festival by running the half marathon! We "weaved" in and out of thousands of people....15,000 runners strong! Lots of fun! Here are a few pictures...ordered some but they won't be here for a few weeks!

That's right...mom's night out! Above are a "few" of the ladies from the Mommy and Me class! Of course, there are more of us but it is so hard to find a night for EVERYONE to come! We had a GREAT time at Cheeseburger in Paradise tonight! We sat outside in PERFECT weather, enjoyed great company, and good burgers! Not to worry, because we have class tomorrow...will be burning off some french fries!!

When's the last time you went out with some friends??? If it's more than a month, or two... make some phone calls STAT!!! RECHARGE your batteries and your friendships. ESSENTIAL to SURVIVING MOMMYHOOD!!

WE DID IT! Hubby and I ran our first marathon today!! My running partner Nickie and I finished together...after months of running and training it was a GREAT FINISH!!
Just under 5 hours of running...4 hours 51 minutes! Our goal was 4 1/2 hours...but knee pain slowed us down!
No matter the time we CROSSED THE LINE!!

That could be the adjective for our household...as EVERYONE is on an antibiotic!
Hubby was first, with a diagnosis of PNEUMONIA last week. Then Dane got a "cold", but I decided to be PROACTIVE...ok maybe "pushy" and thought in light of Hubby's illness he needed antibiotics!
Then I started feeling a little "tingle" in my chest... causing me to cough when I took in a deep breath! Probably was nothing I told myself...but in light of my FIRST FULL MARATHON less than 2 weeks away... I NEED to BREATHE! So, I too have antibiotics! Jackson has been having some drainage from his Right ear... already did ear drops 2 weeks ago...not better...SO follow up today and he is going to have the "pleasure" of his THRID SET OF TUBES!!! Yes, oral antibiotics, ear drops with antibiotics, and surgery next week!
BUT I must say...everyone is being a trooper. Jackson doesn't seem to act sick, Dane a little whinning, Jay's mending, and I still taught the Mommy and Me class today.All in all not bad for a family of 4 on ANTIBIOTICS!

It wasn't PRETTY...but we did it!

We ran 23 miles of the "offical" marathon course yesterday!!! IT WAS HILLY!!! YIKES!!! I knew it wasn't going to be easy...but MAN IT WAS REALLY TOUGH!! Mainly, I think becuase of the hills and not enough water stations.... so hopefully 3 weeks from TODAY that won't be the case. The acutally marathon should have water/powerade stations EVERY MILE! I truly think hydration is KEY!!
Not to mention bannans and orange slices...and guu!

Almost there...then I think it will be only half's for awhile! The body takes A LOT of stress training for a FULL! Hence, my body is aching a bit today!!! Nothing some water and advil can't fix...that and a walk/strectch later.
So what did you do today to burn some calories???? I got 2300 off yesterday....THE BEST PART was having a slice of cheesecake last night and NOT even thinking twice about calories!!!
Must be all downhill from here.... I thought of these "hills" of San Fran....much steeper than those from yesterday...but I didn't run 23 miles out there!!

Did you think I ran off to become a Las Vegas show girl??? Well as "fun" as that might be...and a GREAT WORKOUT...I didn't change roles of mommy for topless "show girl". It's just been a little crazy for us. We were gone for a fast week-end to Vegas, then home for 2 days, and back across the states to San Franciso California! Hubby had a conference there and I had an agenda...WINE COUNTRY!!! Which we got to visit on our last day there...renting a red convertible mustang and all!!
Once back after 5 days, last week was literally CATCH UP!!! Catch up on the MOUNTAIN of laundry, feeling better (as I had strep throat...did get a Zpack while there), get some miles on the legs running, and just giving lots of LOVE to my boys! THEN it was time for Dane's 2nd BDAY...that was fun... so... there will be LOTS of pictures to come...and stories!
Just wanted to let everyone know I'm alive and KICKING!

It is a GREAT DAY!! WHY...because I have sunshine in my heart!!

This week-end was filled with WONDERFUL sunshine and warmer temperatures.... a true blessing for us as we needed to play outside! Today on the way to teach Mommy and Me class Jackson asked a question.

"Mom, where is the sunshine today?" (It is very cloudy and overcast today with much lower temperature than the last 2 days.)

I told him that the clouds were blocking the sun today, but that it was still in the sky.
He proceed to tell me that he didn't like the clouds!
I told him that I too like the sun, but the clouds aren't a bad thing as long as we can keep SUNSHINE in our hearts!!
He said..."that's good mom! SUNSHINE in my heart!!"

So let SUNSHINE be in your heart no matter what the skies look like!!

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY...REJOICE and be glad in it!!!

Oh, and by the way... I rocked on Saturday morning!
FINISHED my first EVER 20 miles!! Best part...I wasn't really sore the next day or today. Just a little tight in the hamstrings...not bad!! Thanks to the sunshine and my friend Molly's strength for pulling me though the last few miles! ( She is 34 just had a baby last week...which was a mircle after having a mastectomy and chemo for breast cancer WHILE pregnant (they found the cancer when she was 8weeks)...she starts round 2 chemo this week.) I thought of her those last few miles...and lifted my legs up because of her!!! Each step was hard...but after what she's been battling I thought...suck it up and RUN!
I would be humbled if you would keep her close in prayer this week.

Now...what did you do this week-end???

That's right...20 miles! What do you think of when you see 20 miles typed? 20 miles to the next rest area? 20 miles to get home from work? 20 miles to your favorite place to eat?

Well 20 miles is my GOAL for tomorrow...RUNNING for 3 to 3 1/1 hours is what 20 miles means to me!

TODAY I RAN 15 MILES!!! It is the LONGEST DISTANCE I've EVER ran ( prior to that a half marathon in October)! BUT I did it!!!
AMAZING!! Feeling a little stiff but nothing a hot bath and some Biofreeze can't help!
Never thought I'd be running, much less preparing for a FULL MARATHON- but I AM!!
DREAM BIG!! SET BIG GOALS!! YOU CAN DO ANYTHING...just BELIEVE!!

I SURVIVED running 12 miles in the SNOW!!! WHAT a crazy 2 hours in 16 degree weather it was.
Truly amazing.... if you would have told me a year ago that I would have been running, let alone running outside when it's cold I would have LAUGHED in your face and claimed you were INSANE!
Funny how things change!
I am DETERMINED to PERSEVERE and accomplish my goal of COMPLETING a FULL MARATHON this April! There is no option to "skip" the run...and to do it on a treadmill...well that just seems even more CRAZY!
TRAINING is so important...it's not just about crossing the finish line....it's the HARD WORK each week that goes into meeting the GOAL!! While running on Saturday I actually thought..."if you can run in these conditions... snow on the ground, frigid temperatures, and 12 miles...then that MARATHON might even be easier!". SERIOUSLY... it might be!! (I'll let you know!)

So what are your GOALS for the year? For the MONTH? The QUARTER? You must map out your way, WRITE it down, and start your way toward ACCOMPLISHMENT.
I CHALLENGE you to JUST DO IT!!! CLAIM 3 things you want to do to improve yourself....one physical, one mental, one spiritual and do it!!! We need to assure all facets of our life are in order to be COMPLETE!
Here are mine...
Physical- run a MARATHON in APRIL
Mental- Monthly scrapbook ( I usually wait to the end of the year and SPAZ to get it done)
Spiritual- Daily devotion.

Here is yesterday's verse
"Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness and who seek the LORD; Look to the rock from which you were cut and to the quarry from which you were hewn." Isaiah 51:1
YOU MUST FOCUS on success.... YOU CAN DO IT...HAVE FAITH in yourself...GOD already does!!!

As promised my "cranky face" picture after our "snow date" yesterday. The camera battery was dead...it charged while we froze, and I snapped these as soon as we came in!
Needless to say.... we didn't play in the snow today!

Ok...so I didn't crop these...but at least they are loaded onto the new computer and I've been "playing" with iphoto!

Hoping you are warm and have been able to sweat this week! It's single digits here...and I'm going to RUN OUTSIDE tomorrow morning...12 miles! YIKES...what's wrong with me???

WELL it came today!! MAC is in the house!!!
LOVE IT and have only been using it for 5 minutes!!! We had our first snow today...no school for Jackson, no Kindermusik for Dane, and NO GYM for me!! We did brave the FRIGID temperatures and play outside for about 30 minutes...the same time it took for us to get bundled up to GO OUTSIDE!! My camera battery was dead so no pictures of BEFORE...did get a funny shot after we came in...cranky faces! Once I figure out the photo section...will post.
Hoping for Mommy and Me class tomorrow....if school is canceled they cancel classes at the YMCA! Fingers crossed.
THe FULL training is going well...however the run this Saturday is 12 miles and the temperature is only going to be around 7 degrees!! CRAZY...we'll see how that goes!

What about you? How are things with you? Are you getting those sweat sessions in??? Don't give up....keep pushing!! It WILL GET BETTER!!

Hard drive...died!

I've been MIA because my computer died....YES it DIED!! After almost 4 years the HARD DRIVE JUST STOPPED! I lost EVERYTHING on it...well...maybe my mom will be able to retrieve SOMETHING...FINGERS CROSSED for pictures. (She's a computer "freak" I mean that in a NICE way!) So let this serve as not only my lesson...but yours ...HAVE AN EXTERNAL back up!

On the bright side...this means I need a new computer....Looking at iMAC!!! Any thoughts???

Getting closer to Christmas

I love Christmas!!! The celebration of Jesus and the precious gift GOD has given us! The entire MONTH is magical!!! Christmas music, parties, decorations, cards, presents.... all fun. Gearing up for a "Mommy and Me" aerobics party later this week!
Here are a few snapshots of the boys....dressed up and ready for bed!

Do find time to get those workouts in!!! ESSENTIAL to reducing stress during the holidays!
We had our first Marathon training run on Saturday! It was great...just 6 miles...to think about 20 more...WOW!! BUT TRAINING is key.... What are you going to do that CHALLENGES your mental and physical self this year????

Biting the BULLET!

Well I did it!!!
I BIT the BULLET and signed up for my FIRST (and mabybe only) FULL MARATHON!!!
I know, CRAZY!!! But I'm inspired after completing my first half marathon in October...what's ANOTHER 13.1 miles?
Seriously, if BIGGEST LOSER contestants can do it then SO CAN I!!!!

REALLY... we ALL can if we WANT TO!! MAKE up your mind, find something to set your sites on and JUST DO IT!! What is your next big fitness goal???

Fingers crossed for the winter training blues. Actually, I decided to run on the treadmill today (as it was WAY TOO COLD outside) and logged 5 miles! Not bad for "skipping" the running for a "few" weeks. It felt GREAT...let's hope the treadmill will be my friend for many more "inside" runs!

Healthy snacks!

As a mom of two boys and a dietitian I'm so happy that my kiddos eat healthy!! Jackson helped me make some home-made pesto and then eat it up with carrots. "Mom this is SO GOOD...YUM!" were his exact words!! Thought I'd show you that both a 3 year old and a 20 month old can munch on carrots...Dane does prefer raspberries and Cheerios, but will "gnaw" on a carrot too!
Be sure to keep your fridge stocked with fresh fruit and veggies! Let those items replace cookies and chips...just DON'T buy the junk. Jackson asks for a snack...reaching for an apple or orange...plus you'll start to eat better too!

Do something FUN today with lots of MOVEMENT!!! Have a "dance party"...turn up the radio and just DANCE! This is especially good at the "witching hour" which is usually about 4pm at our house!
