Healthy snacks!

As a mom of two boys and a dietitian I'm so happy that my kiddos eat healthy!! Jackson helped me make some home-made pesto and then eat it up with carrots. "Mom this is SO GOOD...YUM!" were his exact words!! Thought I'd show you that both a 3 year old and a 20 month old can munch on carrots...Dane does prefer raspberries and Cheerios, but will "gnaw" on a carrot too!
Be sure to keep your fridge stocked with fresh fruit and veggies! Let those items replace cookies and chips...just DON'T buy the junk. Jackson asks for a snack...reaching for an apple or orange...plus you'll start to eat better too!

Do something FUN today with lots of MOVEMENT!!! Have a "dance party"...turn up the radio and just DANCE! This is especially good at the "witching hour" which is usually about 4pm at our house!

Halloween 2009

We live in a relatively new subdivision...in fact last year we only had 4 trick or treaters. But this year more people have moved in and we had a "real" trick or treat around the neighborhood. I took the boys while Jay made a fire at the "pit" and handed out candy! Who do you think had more fun????
Anyway the boys loved it and they got some candy. I've since hidden the candy...to no questions this morning...so the "loot" will probably go to the Y in the morning.
Did teach Bodypump Saturday morning...so I was able to "partake" in a few "treats" myself. All in moderation!

ENJOYING HIMSELF while waiting for "trick or treaters". Next time I stay by the fire and he goes with them and the WAGON!!!

GRAHAM CRACKERS before we started...hoping to prevent the candy!

HURRY UP MOM!!! I'm READY to go!!!

Mr. Policeman leading the way!!!

Wow look at this...notice Jackson reaching for his "gun"!

CANDY!!!

Our neighbors..."bag of Jelly beans" and "kitty cat".
The boys LOVED seeing everyone dressed up!

This was a "good" sucker!

No such luck!!! I wouldn't open them...but he "drooled" on the corner until the M&M's were starting to come out.

What NO CANDY...one of my neighbors didn't plan on being home...so no candy...but she answered the door to say hi. Jackson NOT so happy with the NO candy!!

Hope you had a GREAT week-end and were able to enjoy the treats. If you over did it on chocolate...take a deep breath and just workout a little harder tomorrow. It's not the END of the world!! Life happens!!!
Have a blessed week and don't forget to...
