11 miles and counting!

Today I pushed my body to the max....to keep running when you want to stop is a TOTAL MENTAL SUCCESS!
11 miles today...the longest distance I've ever done and just 2.1 miles SHY of the GOAL! Our half Marathon is in 2 weeks, and I now know that I can push past the "road blocks". What an AMAZING 11 weeks this has been of training. The fact that I've commitment ed myself to running 3 days a week for that long is incredible. Especially because I always LOATHED running! I still can't say I love it, more so I RESPECT the determination running requires. It is totally a SELF SPORT....you must push YOURSELF and not relay on others like in aerobics. Today I conquered it!!

SO here's to today....those LONG 11 MILES...to staying strong and focused...to giving it up to GOD and the strength he so graciously gives me! THANK YOU!!
Now What Are You waiting for?!?!?
Get up and...

Family Reunion...catching up!

Every year my mom's side of the family gets together! It was becoming difficult to get ALL of us TOGETHER at the holidays...so many cousins, and we all have kiddos...the natural complexity of "where to go on Christmas?". So a few years ago we starting just have a fall fun family reunion. We always have lots of FOOD, FUN, and FAMILY time. Here a few shots!

Dane with my mom.

Not 1 but 3 CORN HOLE boards! We played alot of this!

What is that THING?

Jackson looking like his normal crazy self!

Ryan staying out of trouble!

Mason posing for a picture!

Uncle Mike and Aunt Susie...driver and co-pilot for the Hayride!

A TRACTOR Hayride is always the kiddos' highlights!
Well...the adults too!

The "other side" of the trailer.

Dane is ready for his first hayride!

Just a SWINGIN"!

Hope you have a great week! Be sure to sweat some!!!

Caught running

You may or may not know that I'm officially training for our town's HALF MARATHON. That might not be a big deal to you professional runners out there,
but for this AEROBICS ONLY lady it's a VERY BIG DEAL! Yes, in the past I've been know to say very NEGATIVE things about running....mainly because it seemed so BORING and HARD= NOT FUN! (bad high school track experience)

Anyway.... I'm participating in a 13 weeks to 13 miles training program hosted by our YMCA. It's been GREAT and so AMAZING to see the hundreds of people pushing themselves!
They've been taking pictures each week....and I found one of myself. This was from week 7 and it was 8 miles that day. ( The longest distance I had ran up until that day.)

Things are going well and we have a 10K prep race this week-end...my first "official" race.

Overall, I'm very proud of myself...as an aerobics instructor I'm used to pushing others...and running has forced me OUTSIDE of my comfort zone and made me take on the battle of ME against ME! So far I'm winning!!

How about you? What are you doing to stay fit and PUSH yourself!

Oh...any pointers for the half- marathon? Feel free to leave a note...it's 30 days away!

Now get up and...
