Caught running

You may or may not know that I'm officially training for our town's HALF MARATHON. That might not be a big deal to you professional runners out there,
but for this AEROBICS ONLY lady it's a VERY BIG DEAL! Yes, in the past I've been know to say very NEGATIVE things about running....mainly because it seemed so BORING and HARD= NOT FUN! (bad high school track experience)

Anyway.... I'm participating in a 13 weeks to 13 miles training program hosted by our YMCA. It's been GREAT and so AMAZING to see the hundreds of people pushing themselves!
They've been taking pictures each week....and I found one of myself. This was from week 7 and it was 8 miles that day. ( The longest distance I had ran up until that day.)

Things are going well and we have a 10K prep race this week-end...my first "official" race.

Overall, I'm very proud of myself...as an aerobics instructor I'm used to pushing others...and running has forced me OUTSIDE of my comfort zone and made me take on the battle of ME against ME! So far I'm winning!!

How about you? What are you doing to stay fit and PUSH yourself!

Oh...any pointers for the half- marathon? Feel free to leave a note...it's 30 days away!

Now get up and...

Rock on, Roxy!! I wish I was running it with you. I'm doing the 10K in October around here (wish there was a 1/2 marathon, but I have to wait and pick it up in Nashville later). Good luck! I love running so much.

Good luck!! I walked a marathon in Hawaii in 1998. I couldn't imagine RUNNING one, let alone half of one. I know you will do GREAT!!!

This is all your fault! I would have never have dreamed of even thinking about running a mile much less 13. And now, I hate to admit it, but I might actually kind of be enjoying it. You are still motivating! Thanks!

You are going to do great. You are all prepped and ready. Remember, the training is the hard part, the race is the reward for all the time you spent training!
