Derby Half Marathon

I hail from KENTUCKY! DERBY TIME is the best!! This year hubby and I kick started the Derby festival by running the half marathon! We "weaved" in and out of thousands of people....15,000 runners strong! Lots of fun! Here are a few pictures...ordered some but they won't be here for a few weeks!

Turning 35 and loving it!!

I've decided age is just a number of years that reflects the amount of experiences you've been exposed to!
Therefore, why do women pout and hate turning another year older??? Not me!! I'm EMBRACING this life and body that GOD gave me...adding up all the experiences!
Including this one that hubby gave me for my birthday!!

We went on a great date with amazing food and a view of the Ohio River. Then on to LORD of the DANCE!! Can't believe actually got us tickets without any prompting from me!!!

So... don't fall prey to BIRTHDAY BLUES!! CELEBRATE!!!
EAT right, drink more water...and red wine...in moderation, and EXERCISE!! This will help you stay in shape and make you feel and look A LOT YOUNGER than your "life experiences number"!!

I'm a proud momma... here is my big boy eating an APPLE waiting for me to finish a MARATHON! Trying to instill a HEALTHY lifestyle into my boys... thinking I'm winning this race!

Mom's night out!!!

That's right...mom's night out! Above are a "few" of the ladies from the Mommy and Me class! Of course, there are more of us but it is so hard to find a night for EVERYONE to come! We had a GREAT time at Cheeseburger in Paradise tonight! We sat outside in PERFECT weather, enjoyed great company, and good burgers! Not to worry, because we have class tomorrow...will be burning off some french fries!!

When's the last time you went out with some friends??? If it's more than a month, or two... make some phone calls STAT!!! RECHARGE your batteries and your friendships. ESSENTIAL to SURVIVING MOMMYHOOD!!

WE DID IT! Marathon: check!

WE DID IT! Hubby and I ran our first marathon today!! My running partner Nickie and I finished together...after months of running and training it was a GREAT FINISH!!
Just under 5 hours of running...4 hours 51 minutes! Our goal was 4 1/2 hours...but knee pain slowed us down!
No matter the time we CROSSED THE LINE!!

Tomorrow is THE DAY!! All the days of training are going to come to a head tomorrow morning!!! 26.2 miles is in my NEAR FUTURE!!! We drove the course today and picked up our packets!!! Can't wait to do it!!
