Yes, that is exactly what my little Jackson said tonight as I lay beside him in bed. (heart melt)
It was one of the lines from my FAVORITE books' of his..."I'll Love you Forever".
You know the one where the mom has this CRAZY little boy and it goes through the years of his life and every night she goes in to rock him after he is asleep and says... "I"ll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as Long as I'm living my baby you'll be." (wipe tear) And then one day she get's sick and calls him and he goes over to her house and picks her up and rocks her gently while saying... I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living my Mommy you'll be.
(Sniff Sniff)
My heart is truly beaming... how lucky we are to be loved like that. To be given a gift from God to be mothers! THANK YOU is all I can write.
I am reminded that these years of mothering will soon pass by. My nephew just graduated high school this week, and we celebrated his achievement this week-end. How fast time truly does pass!
Parts of me sometimes wish my days away...longing for my boys to be bigger and more independent...but as I watched my SIL and her son my heart ached for them.
The seperation that is to come in a few months when he leaves for college...the tears, the promise of the future...the letting go of the yesterdays...the magnitude of all...(deep breath) is overwhelming.
So I will hold on to EACH day and cherish these memories that I am creating everyday.
For soon, oh too soon, will my nest be empty! I pray that my Jackson will to want to hold me and say "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living my Mommy you'll be."
Let's be sure to EMBRACE these days!!
Now wipe your face and GO...
